The opportunity The IT manager will direct, manage, supervise and coordinate the activities and operations of the ‘Production Information Systems’ Department including hardware, software, network, telephone, and computer systems administration; identifies, recommends, develops, implements, and supports cost-effective technology solutions He/She will communicate with the Plant Leadership Team, with the regional and corporate IT. Among other responsibilities, you will have to: Make technology and systems available around the clock; providing fast recovery when downtime is inevitable Managing the ’Production Operations Support’ team on shift duty 24X7 Manage the team - responsible for the implementation of technology within the organization and direct the work of systems and business analysts, developers, support specialists and other computer-related workers Evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensuring that IT facilities meet these needs; Manage great variety of hardware, including equipment like Wifi, scanners, mobile devices, access control, camera supervision Manage all domains - shop floor, Scada, real-time data acquisition, process control, execution systems, DBs, time series archiving, traceability, …. Plan, develop and implement the IT budget and ensure cost effectiveness; Schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems; Research and install new systems; Establish disaster recovery or contingency plans to ensure business continuity Maintain audit compliancy and ensure that software licensing laws are adhered to; Manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems; Mentor and train new IT support staff; Be responsible for the application development. Act in alignment with customer needs. Coordinate outside resources. Hire contractors and outsource functions when necessary to ensure the company's technology needs are met efficiently and effectively Maintains working relationships with vendors and third party providers, ensuring contracts are kept up to date and cost maintenance strategies are assessed and analyzed on a periodic basis To join our team you will need: Languages: English is a must. French and/or German is an asset. Experience: Experience in Information Technology, Project management, software development environment and use of current technologies Experience in the domain of real time systems and data acquisition Experience in the field of Information Technology and Project management, however experience in software development environment and use of current technologies, such as Business experience is a prerequisite Skills & Qualifications: Technical expertise coupled with an understanding of business and management principles. Strong business knowledge, production aware, flow, Kanban, Specifications, processes…..
