Organic waste Pretreatment plant Tender- and site-presentation

Todays programme Welcome Introduction to A + and the project - expectations and the project’s role in future waste handling The tender Site presentation – helmets mandatory Questions and answers

Presentation of AffaldPlus, the future waste handling and expectations

AffaldPlus is owned by 6 municipalities: Faxe Næstved Ringsted Slagelse Sorø Vordingborg inhabitants ( households) and approximately companies (mostly SME’s or retail). Facilities: 2 W-t-E-plants 1 NG-fired PCH-facility) 2 Landfills 3 Composting facilities 22 Recycling Centers (1,8 mio. visitors/y) 1 facility for sorting and shipment of recyclables

t waste handled in total t waste handled in total Garden waste Demolition & Constructionwaste Soil Paper & cardboard Wood Landfill , others more to be moved by 2018 Incineration Reuse

2022 goals of the government 50 % recycling (by weight) of 7 specific materials/fractions from households (paper, cardboard, glass, metals, plastics, wood and organics/biowaste) => ”mandatory” to collect and recycle organics (and wood) (together %)

Biowaste tons of organics from households tons garden waste (only easy degradable organics like grass, leaves, flowers, fruit) Demands from the government Energy recovery Recycling of nutrients => Anaerobic digestion => Pretreatment of waste

A + expectations (demands) Fully automized (no staff nescessary at site during processing – also the cleaning of the components during the day No loss of easy degradable organics in the reject from the proces No plastics (or stones or metals) in the product. Energy efficient

Forbehandling af kildesorteret BIOAFFALD – Pretreatment of source separated Bio-waste Besigtigelsesmøde d. 10 maj 2016 Pre-bid meeting May 10th. 2016

Delivery from technical supplier: Main project: delivery of equipment installation of equipment (mechanical, electrical and Scada/SRO) running in and test 3 month trial operation training of staff delivery of spare parts advisory services for building and civil works Optional services: supply and installation of turbidity monitoring equipment for the outputs delivery, installation, running in and 3 month trial operation of equipment for hygienisation. service on maintenance and repair

Services not included (to be executed by other contractors) Demolition and dismantling of existing contructions in and outside building Foundation work and other type of structural strengthning Renewing of floors and other surfaces. Electrical work not connected to the equipment functions. Building and civil works required for the construction of access area, reception building and tank storage for outputs etc.

Area for pre-treatment installations

Design data – Capacity Source/type: Households: source separated biowaste from kitchen and from garden Quantity/composition Per year: tons ( tons bio waste from Kitchen and tons garden waste) Per 14 days (2 weeks): In average 925 tons Max over 14 days: approx tons Min over 14 days: approx. 500 tons Max over one day: approx. 175 tons Composition: Not known in details – see next slide (and Questions and Answers). Arriving trucks: two chamber normal collection trucks (average size load approx. 3,3 tons) walking floor/mulitlift trucks with traylor (load size tons)

Bio waste - Composition Single Family HousesMultistorey dwellings

Performance requirements Outputs: Storage capacity in tanks for minimum 24 hours maximum production To be transported to external biogasfacility or digester (wet technology) Max content of plastic and metal larger than 2mm: 0,5% of DS. Content of heavy fractions as soil, gravel, glass to be minimized to avoid sedimentation later in the chain Content of "long items" from garden waste to be minimized to avoid blocking Reception installations: To comprise a unloading silo (capacity for one max day) and a buffer storage (capacity for two max. days) Room for unloading of large traylor trucks Room for unloading of at least two normal collection trucks at the same time) Automatic operation of reception installations and internal transport to pre-treatment equipment Operation: To comprise one single line. Work 100% automatically and without permanent supervision of operations - except from staff at control room Operational hours: Max 12 hours and 5 days, 52 weeks per year. In special cases 24 hours operation per day. Water to the pre-treatment process can be taken from treated waste water from neighbouring sewage treatment plant (information on water quality is available)
