Reasons for European Exploration: God, Glory, & Gold! Desire for new sources of wealth Commercial Revolution- The age of exploration brought far reaching changes to global cultures. Overseas trade and the conquest of empires expanded Europe's economy. This search for wealth led to the rise Commercial Revolution increased reliance on gold and silver Monarchs needed to finance continual wars and conflicts in Europe In particular Spain
