Solve & Verify It (Pre-Cal Section 7.4) 1.Solve each of the systems of inequalities using the graphs provided. 2.Verify the solutions in a graphing calculator or using the Desmos online graphing calculator:Desmos online graphing calculator – At the top left, click on the icon and select – Enter the first inequality. Hit enter and then enter the 2 nd inequality, and so forth. 3.Turn in completed worksheet. Solve a system of inequalities using paper and pencil, and then verify your solution using a graphing calculator. This task uses: Provided worksheet Graphing calculator or Desmos online graphing calculator Learning Objective(s): Graph the solution to a system of inequalities S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement

Your Inequality & My Inequality (Pre-Cal section 7.4) 1.Working with a partner, you will each write one inequality. You will use the two inequalities to make a system of inequalities. Write the system on the given worksheet. 2.Use Desmos Online Graphing Calculator to graph the solution to your system.Desmos Online Graphing Calculator – At the top left, click on the icon and select – Enter the first inequality, hit enter, and then enter the 2 nd inequality. – Sketch your graph on your worksheet. 3.You and your partner will both adjust your original inequality (change the slope, y-intercept, or inequality sign) and write a new system of inequalities. 4.Use Desmos (see step 2) to graph the new system of inequalities. Sketch your new system on your worksheet. 5.Compare your original system to your new system. What changes do you notice? How did your change affect the solution? Discuss with your partner and record on your worksheet. 6.Turn in completed worksheet. Work with a partner to create a system of inequalities and then graph the solution. Modify the original system and graph the new solution. Discuss how the changes affect the solution. This task uses: Provided worksheet Graphing calculator or Desmos online graphing calculator Learning Objective(s): Graph the solution to a system of inequalities. Write a system of inequalities & alter to make changes to the solution; compare the solutions A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement.

Systems of Inequalities (Pre-Cal section 7.4) 1.Working with a partner, you will each write one inequality. You will use the two inequalities to make a system of inequalities. Write the system on the given worksheet. 2.Use a graphing calculator or Desmos Online Graphing Calculator to graph the solution to your system.Desmos Online Graphing Calculator – At the top left, click on the icon and select – Enter the first inequality, hit enter, and then enter the 2 nd inequality. – Sketch your graph on your worksheet. 3.You and your partner will both adjust your original inequality (change the slope, y-intercept, or inequality sign) and write a new system of inequalities. 4.Use Desmos or your graphing calculator (see step 2) to graph the new system of inequalities. Sketch your new system on your worksheet. 5.With your partner, compare your original system to your new system. What changes do you notice? How did your change affect the solution? 6.Post your answer to #6 (including pictures on your original graph & new graph) on the Pre-Calculus Section 7.4 discussion board on my BB site. 7.Reply to at least two other posts & correct any misconceptions. Work with a partner to create a system of inequalities and then graph the solution. Modify the original system and graph the new solution. Discuss how the changes affect the solution and post to Blackboard. This task uses: Provided worksheet Desmos online graphing calculator iPad or laptop Blackboard Learning Objective(s): Graph the solution to a system of inequalities. Write a system of inequalities & alter to make changes to the solution; compare the solutions Post to Blackboard M MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign.

Writing & Saying to Learn 1.You and your partner will use the Tellagami app to create your own tutorial video which explains how to find the solution to a system of inequalities & how changing the inequality sign will affect the solution to the system. 2.Along with your partner, write a short script (about 30 seconds) that includes all of the required information. 3.Open the Tellagami app and read the “How To”. Choose a character, an emotion, & a background. You may use the doodle feature to write on your background. 4.Click on the “back arrow” to get back to your screen to record. Use the “record” feature and click on the “record” button when you are ready to begin. Click on the “preview” button to view you video. When you are satisfied, click “share”. Make sure you click “save” option to that your video will be saved onto the cameral roll. 5.When you are done, log on to Blackboard and select Section 7.4 Blog. Click on “Create Blog Entry” to add a new entry. It the title line, enter your name, partner’s name. Click on the “attachment” icon on the top of the page & then on the “Browse my computer” at the bottom of the page. Find your video from the cameral roll and click “use”. Click “Post”. 6.Once all the videos are posted, provide a comment on each of the videos with a review of how you think they did. To view all of the blog posts, click on “All Class Members” Use Tellagami app to create an animated video describing how to find solutions to a system of inequalities.
