Developmental Crisis

What is a Developmental Crisis? The precipitating event of the crisis is part of the normal maturational process. When a person reaches a new stage of development his/her normal methods of coping are ineffective and new coping mechanisms need to be developed. For a time, the person is without effective coping and anxiety can increase.
