Dr. Arturo Martinez Why Leveraged Institutional Funds To help meet GPRA outcomes HEP To meet the number of HEP participants the project was funded to serve. To meet the number of HEP participants the project expects to complete the GED each year of the grant (GPRA measure 1) To meet the number of GED recipients expected to enter postsecondary education programs, upgraded employment or the military each year of the grant (GPRA measure 2). To help meet GPRA outcomes CAMP To meet the number of CAMP participants the project was funded to serve. To meet number of CAMP participants the project expects will complete the first academic year of their postsecondary program (GPRA measure 1) To meet number of CAMP participant who after completing the first academic year of college, will continue their postsecondary education (GPRA measure 2)

Dr. Arturo Martinez What type of funds can be leveraged for HEP To meet the number of HEP participants the project was funded to serve. Build HEP as part of the College’s marketing plan to help promote the program. Link HEP to district’s recruitment department to help recruit HEP program. Link HEP to districts ABE program to pre-screen for eligible HEP students.

Dr. Arturo Martinez What type of funds can be leveraged for HEP HEP To meet the number of HEP participants the project expects to complete the GED each year of the grant (GPRA measure 1) Use ABE districts funds to cover cost for instructional staff. (non-federal funds allows for more integration of students to enroll in more districts sections. ($250,000) Use ABE districts funds to provide GED orientation for HEP students. ($30,000) Use Districts testing center to provide the GED exams. ($60,000) Use Districts ABE funds to offer summer classroom sections. ($40,000) Allows to minimize HEP instructional grant funds to provide more tutorial support, and offer summer sections.

Integrate College’s Carl-Perkins Funds as an activity to help transition HEP Graduates into postsecondary educational programs. ($90,000) Assistance with College Admission exams Assistance with Financial aid application. Receive ongoing case management services for placement. Receive tutorial support services Use College Employment Center to help HEP graduates obtain employment.
