Pasco County District EOCs Spring 2015

District EOCs In the school year, District EOCs are in a field testing year. They will not be used for student grades or teacher evaluations. Just because District EOCs are not being used for student grades or teacher evaluations, does not mean they should be treated with any less security. By treating District EOCs with the upmost of security, the development team can receive valuable data to make sure we have the most valid and reliable data to create the best District EOCs we can for the school, when by law they must be used for teacher evaluation and student grades. How the District EOCs will be used for teacher evaluations and student grades in the school year has yet to be confirmed.

Security Agreement All personnel involved in testing needs to complete the online Security Agreement through CANVAS prior to having access to any testing materials. o Go to:

Complete Security Agreement Everyone will need to sign the security agreement, even if you already have for the fall testing window. In order to access the security agreement, you will need to be logged-in to CANVAS and enroll in the course when prompted. o If you have already completed the security agreement, you may receive an error when trying to enroll. You can access the security agreement any time after you have enrolled by going to: Please take the time to read and sign the Security Agreement for testing (including state statutes). Administering Online

Prior to Testing…. Before a student takes their first online assessment, they should take the Online Assessment ( OLA) Tool Test. This test is similar to the e-Pat and teaches students how navigate through the test and use online tools. It also familiarizes both students and teacher with the login process. The tests take approximately 15 minutes to administer. Headphones are required. You cannot administer the OLA Tool Test and the regular assessment during the same class period. Students only need to take the OLA Tool Test once per semester. Your students may have taken it for another class. You can check their status in OLA Student Admin within SAM. Students who have not taken the test will appear in the “Not Started” section. If administration of the OLA Tool Test is not possible, please present the Video Tutorial from the Performance Matters Help Center. This will give both students and teachers an overview of the student experience.

Scripts Scripts are to be read verbatim. Scripts can be found at the District EOC Resource CANVAS Page, under the Performance Matters icon: o resources resources o It is advised that you read through the scripts prior to the day of testing. Administering Paper & Pencil

Day of Procedures Check out materials from Assessment Coordinator the morning of testing Make sure room is prepared in a secure testing format (desks 3 ft. apart, in rows, with no helpful resources on the walls). Get all students seated, with ALL ELECTRONICS PUT AWAY AND TURNED OFF, completely off of students’ body Read script verbatim and follow directions for material distribution. Write important times on the board. If student doesn’t have a pre-filled in answer sheet, give the student a blank answer sheet and make sure they fill in their student id (including bubbles). Collect all materials as directed Return materials to assessment coordinator immediately following testing session.

Helpful Tips Please remind students not to fold, bend, staple the answer sheet. Students should not make any stray marks on the paper, except in blank areas. If students mark in the QR code area, the answer sheet will not scan! Students can use any writing utensil (pen/pencil).

Sample Answer Sheet
