What is a Gerund? A gerund is a verb that acts as a noun Ex: Swimming is my favorite hobby.

Where do you find Gerunds? Gerunds can be the subject ex. Smiling makes me happy. They can be the direct objects ex: Michelle enjoys reading. They can be objects of a preposition ex: She won first place for swimming.
