VTSS is … (Tom’s edits) a data-driven decision making approach for establishing practices needed for a school to be a supportive learning environment (across domains) for all students. A Process for Continuous Improvement

Vision of VTSS The vision of VTSS is to build capacity for a sustained tiered system of academic and social behavioral supports that are responsive to the needs of all students in their preparation to become contributing citizens in a global society.

TIER I: Core, Universal GOAL: 100% achieve at high levels!Implementing well researched programs and practices demonstrated to produce good outcomes for the majority Tier 1 is effective if at least 80% are meeting expectations 6

TIER II: Supplemental, Targeted GOAL: No more than approximately 20% needing supplemental in addition to the core for achievement. Tier II is effective if at least 70-80% improve performance 7

TIER III: Intensive, Individualized GOAL: 0-5% of needing intensive, individualized support in addition to core and supplemental Tier III: is effective if at least 70-80% improve performance 8
