SOME ANSWERS – PERIOD 3 The storm formed over the tropical Atlantic Ocean, where the warm temperatures caused more evaporation and for larger storm clouds to form. The winds pushed the storm from The Bahamas and Florida westward, over New Orleans and Louisiana/Mississippi. The more the clouds and winds formed, the worse the storm became, building in intensity.
