Web Server Is a computer that is always connected to the Internet Contains web sites and web pages If you want to publish a web site/page: ◦ You need to upload it to a web server. ◦ You need to pay fees for using the web server.
Web Browser Is the software running on a PC for displaying web pages Example: Google Chrome, IE, Firefox When you type a URL in your web browser: ◦ You send a request to the web server that has the web page. ◦ The web server replies by sending the web page to your web browser.
Web Site Is like a directory or folder on the web server Consists of web pages that have text, graphics, sound, and/or video content
ISP Stands for Internet Service Provider Provides you with the service for using the Internet That is, it allows you to access web servers, thus viewing web pages. Examples: Rogers, Bell Canada
