Biomes Of The World By: Alexis Arballo Mr. Rossen Room 9

Tundra The Tundra is divided into two types: Arctic Tundra and Alpine Tundra. It has an extremely low temperature and permafrost. Permafrost is permanently frosted ground. There are no trees in the tundra. This is because the wind blows too strong there.

Desert The desert is extremely hot and dry. It has little precipitation and very high temperatures. The desert has little rain. It has less than 10 inches of rain each year. The Mojave Desert is the biggest desert in California. But it is not the biggest desert in the world. Antarctica, or the Antarctic Desert, is the biggest desert in the world. Not all deserts have to be hot, but they must be dry.

Tropical Rainforest The Tropical Rainforest is located near the equator. Its climate is very humid; but this biome gets a plethora of rain. The average amount of rainfall each year is 100 inches. There are 4 layers. Canopy, Understory, and Forest Floor.

Ocean The ocean is humongous. It covers about 70% of Earth. 95% Of Earth’s oceans is undiscovered. A new species id discovered every day. Along the coast, there is three parts. The shoreline, the cosatal ocean, and the open ocean. Sea Stars and lots of sunlight is found in the shoreline. Many things also live in the coastal ocean. This includes fish, coral, and many other organisms. Last but not least, the open ocean. Dolphins and whales live here. But they live near the surface. The Fangtooth Fish also lives in the open ocean; in the deepest parts of it
