Tips and Tricks

1. Find an image of an event and use the ideas it creates to make your story. -What is happening in this image? -Or not happening? YOU can make it happen in your story. 2. Find an object and think about what it does. How could you use that in a story?

Is it someone’s birthday? Is it going to be a good party or a bad party? Where are these children? How do they know each other? What’s going to happen? Will they get on with each other ? Why is she not in the pool?

1.Create a fortune teller. Write a word each of the sides on the inside 2.Find a partner, play the game with them until you each of you have several random words that you can use. 3.Write them down and use them as inspiration for your story. Or, if you can, try and include them in your story!

The Creative Cow has come up with some random words in case you need some inspiration!

-Take a look at your favourite book, randomly choose a page and then a word on that page. Use that word in your story. -Think about your favourite book. What did you like about it? Create your own version of that story. -Think about your character, you could write a different story where their personality/role has changed. For example, Peter Pan could now be evil. -What would you love to read about? YOU can write about it!
