Major Cities- Miami- 5,547,051 Washington DC- 5,476,241 Atlanta- 5,475,213 Direction- South of the Northeast East of the Southwest Southeast of the Midwest Latitude and Longitude- 25° 46' 26" N / 80° 11' 38" W

The warm climate and numerous beaches have effected the settlement in this region. Also the large amounts of historical monuments draws people in to live here.

Religions- Majority of the people living in the Southeast are Christian. Major Resources- Hydropower, iron, ore, coal, and oil. Major Landforms- Appalachian Mountains, Florida Everglades. Climate- The average temperature is 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Economic issues- The southeastern United States is a very wealthy area judging by all of the different countries with plants in these states. How has the weather affected settlement?- Many people wish to live here because of it warm weather. It also attracts people to vacation here.

With all the people living in this region, it is hard and expensive to find places to live but jobs are plentiful.

Why live there?- A lot of people live where they do because of the warm weather and plentiful beaches. Transportation- A major system of transportation is The Mississippi River.

Interesting Customs- In Louisiana people celebrate Mardi Gras which is a celebration of the beginning of lent. Loss of Transportation- If the Mississippi River were to be interrupted, not only would

Major tourist attractions- A major tourist attraction is the Yorktown Battlefield, the site of one of the most important battles of the United States history. Unique characteristics- One unique part of the southeast is Washington D.C. Not only does it contain the White House but also different monuments representing former presidents and war veterans.

Economic impact- Because of all the different companies started in this region, it has made the southeast very stable economically.
