Course Information AP Calculus AB AP Calculus is a fast-paced, rigorous, college level course Topics include limits, derivatives, and integrals of algebraic, trigonometric, and transcendental functions Emphasis is placed on communicating understanding of course concepts through clearly written, thoughtful, complete solutions Students are expected to take the AP exam at the end of the year A score of 3, 4, or 5 on the AP exam may earn a student course credit in college (depends on college)
Homework / Study Time Expect homework daily Students need to practice daily Usually won’t take more than 45 minutes Check answers using textbook’s website or HotMath.com (Login: RAHS4540): full solutions to odd problems I accept late work for half credit until the day of the test Study Time in addition to daily practice Once or twice a week and before tests/quizzes Study notes/PowerPoints Access video lessons at Read and then re-read the textbook
Tests/Retakes Tests At the end of each chapter 90% of grade Retake Privilege Can earn up to 10% higher with a cap at 89% For those who score below 59% on a test, they can earn up to 69% on a retake Retake privilege can be revoked for not turning in homework or for lack of participation while in class (see syllabus for more information)
Absences Daily assignments, PowerPoints, worksheets, worksheet answers are posted on my website Students may have as many days as they were absent to complete and turn in their absent work
