Mrs. Fox AP Calculus BC Room 411 There is no sign in sheet – just sit back and enjoy the presentation!

 This is my 14 th year teaching, all at Los Al  Fifth year with Calculus BC and third year with PreCalculus  Common Core Teacher on Special Assignment  I love math and I love working here! The students are awesome and so is the support we get from YOU!  My Family

 Calculus BC moves at a very quick pace – we must cover the entire book  There is not much class time for going over homework  Students are responsible for checking their own work at home  Answers are available at my website  We learn new material almost every day  Start class with a Warm-up Quiz  Go over homework when there is time/need

 Grade Breakdown  Tests: 80%  Homework: 10% - based on completeness  Other: 10% - Quizzes, notes, warm-up quizzes, projects  Allowed (if student has done 90% of homework overall) to drop one low test score first semester only  Grades on a scale  A 89.50% is an A-  Projects after the AP Exam

 A “can-do” attitude  Good work ethic, good study habits  The knowledge that this course is based on the integrity and respect for our tests and work  I will not tolerate cheating in any form!   Supplies:  Spiral notebook for notes  Any kind of paper for warm-ups and homework  Graphing calculator

 The AP test is Thursday, May 5  Cost is $92  We have scheduled for 5 FULL weeks of review  This is ample time for reviewing  Most reviewing will be done in the normal class setting  One Saturday in April will be dedicated to “sitting” for a full practice exam  Utilizing review material from Calculus teacher Stu Schwartz and released free response and multiple choice questions

 I utilize the teacher webpage at the school’s website  What is posted there  Full management plan  Test and Quiz dates – we will stick closely to the schedule!  Assignments listed by chapter  Answers to assignments

 I am available most days after school or during 6 th period  Students should form study groups if they have not done so already

 This is a class of VERY bright students and I will be expecting nothing but the best from them  Please (best option) or call if you have any questions or concerns   Consider a small “Helping Hand” classroom supply donation  On the back window are options  Thank you for entrusting us with your kids – I will strive to be the best for them!

Thank you for coming!
