Themes, Units, & Activities Dr. Seuss Author Study! ELA: Dr. Seuss Author Study! Students will be introduced to Dr. Seuss’s “Hop On Pop“ and “Oh, the Thinks You Can Think”. Children will be asked to name a few rhyming words as well as sight words they can remember from the book. Students will continue review of word families and will also be introduced to the –op word family. Phonics: Long & Short O & U Vowels; Sight Words: I, It, To, & Who. Addition!! Math: Addition!! Students will continue practicing addition! Children will review how to use their number recognition as well as the signs that are used to make an addition word problem being plus (+), and (&), and equals (=). Spring is Here!! Religion: Spring is Here!! Art: Clouds! Social Studies: Needs & Wants For Homework, students will create a Needs and Wants Poster of things that he or she “wants” and “needs” using picture cutouts from magazines, newspapers, books, and/or image prints from the internet. Needs and Wants Posters are due by Wednesday, April 13 th ! On Wednesday, April 13 th,students will present their “Needs & Wants Posters”!
