What is AFEP ( Armed Forces Employment Pathway) 1.Jobs Fairs within Army Reserve Centres around the region.(2 per month in 2016) 2.Load Job Seekers and students from job fairs onto the next available Exercise Reserve Challenge. (4 to be held in 2016) 3.Successful candidates begin process of joining the Army Reserve. 4.We arrange job interviews and unpaid work placements for successful candidates with businesses local to their area or of interest to them. 5.Supportive Employers include JLR, Mouchel, Wabtec, Pertemps, Carillion and many more. 6.Candidates find enduring employment and join the Reserve.

Training Commitments - Minimum Army 28 days RN 24 days RM 35 days RAF 35 day
What we asking our reservists to do? Training One drill night a week Training weekend every 2 months Annual Deployment Exercises (summer camp) of 15 days. Often training with ‘paired’ Regular units with access to the latest military equipment On operational deployment 1 year in every 5 for 6 month deployment Other shorter term (2 weeks to few months) Mobilisation ‘voluntary’ and intelligent Notification minimum 9 months
Offer to Employers Financial support. Up to £500 per month for employers who have allowed Reservists to deploy on Operations. Developing new relationships. Employer Engagement Cells set up nation wide to keep employers informed. Developing mutual benefit. Leadership training coupled with skills training such as driver training, IT training, Medical training etc. Transferable skills. Reservists receive training in transferable skills that could cost a Company over £9000.
