I. THE GOAL

THE GOAL OF COMPETITIVE EVENTS prepare students for successful careers The FBLA National Awards Program mission is to prepare students for successful careers in business through support for curriculum development and innovative assessment tools. To help meet that charge, the FBLA Competitive Events program has been developed and made available to local and state chapters for use in assessing students in the various knowledge, skills, and abilities assessing students in the various knowledge, skills, and abilities that make up today’s business education curriculum.

II. TYPES OF EVENTS (FBLA Arizona Categories)

III. EVENT SELECTION

STUDENT EVENT ENTRY LIMITATIONS Members can compete in up to: THREE (3) events at Regionals & FIVE (5) events at SLC – Maximum of three (3) Objective Tests and/or Skill Events – Maximum of one (1) Individual Performance Event – Maximum of one (1) Team Performance Event – No limit on Chapter Events or Specialty Events

CHAPTER EVENT ENTRY LIMITATIONS Objective Test and Skill Events: NO limit Performance Events: EXCEPTION: Job Interview - Unlimited entries per chapter at SLC. The top pre-judged submissions will advance. Chapter Events: one entry per chapter per event Members at Conference Individual Team

SLC EVENT DETAILS Prejudged submissions are due to the Arizona FBLA state office on a date that will be identified in the state registration materials (usually about 3 – 4 weeks prior to SLC). Electronic form submission (wufoo) Link provided from SLC information page on website

SLC EVENT DETAILS The top four (4) in test-only, skill, performance, and chapter events at the SLC qualify for National Leadership Conference. Members can compete in only one event at NLC. Even if you do not have students place in the top or called up on stage – attend the winners meeting! Even if you do not have students place in the top or called up on stage – attend the winners meeting! – Your students may have the chance to get bumped up but you must be present to claim that spot for them.
