Implementation Approach A phased approach would be most suitable for implementation and technical deployment of E- Learning environments by BBTA and BIBM. This would allow for better cost and resource management and more efficient evaluation. Start with a pilot implementation

Risks There is no firm commitment from senior management from either BBTA or BIBM to implement E-Learning. Currently there is no allocated budget for the E-Learning project. There is no in-house expertise on development and delivery of E-Learning. Delay in implementation of E-Learning may initiate external competitors to provide similar courses with more favourable terms and conditions to existing customer.

Pilot Project Setup Develop project proposal for pilot implementation and obtain approval from senior management for the project. A senior manager who is keen on E-Learning must be nominated as the project sponsor who will champion the project all the way. Allocate initial budget to start the E-Learning project. A project with three concurrent components to be set up to speed up implementation: Audio-Visual Virtual Room Meeting Learning Management System Learning Content Management System

Disadvantages of E-Learning I.Social impact: Both trainer and trainee may feel isolated, which will impact their efficiency. II.Not all trainings can be done through distance and electronic learning and not a good substitute for face-to-face in all cases. III.People with hearing and visual impairments may be at a disadvantage. IV.Trainer may not be able to respond and adjust to the learner’s reactions V.Difficult to motivate slow learners VI.Technology dependent, hence slow communication and/or power failure could be disruptive
