India : Employees provident fund scheme EPF SCHEME, EDLI SCHEME,EPS-95 THESE ARE APPLICABLE FOR 20 OR MORE EMPLOYEES EMPLOYEES STATE INSURANCE SCHEME—MEDICAL INSURANCE,WORKMEN COMPENSATION These are for 10 or more workers employed Unorganised sector social security scheme— RETIREMENT PENSION SCHEME MEDICAL INSURANCE,GROUP INSURANCE FOR NATURAL AND ACCIDENT DEATH,SCHOLARSHIP FOR TWO CHILDREN UP TO PRIMARY EDUCATION,MATERNITY ALLOWANCE FPR WOMAN WORKERS UP TO 2 CHILDREN. THESE Are applicable for all unorganised sector workers who became the members of the fund.

PAYMENT OF GRATUITY ACT. For those who complets 5 years of service., GPF,COLMINES PF,SEAMENS PF ACT. For government employees MGNREGA. Farmers and rural workers will get 100 days of gurunted empoyment SOCIAL ASSISTANCE For old age,widows and phisically handicapped of BPL families. SRILANKA. GOVERNMENT PENSION SCHEME, MEDICAL INSURANCE AND PF FOR PRIVATE SECTOR EMPLOYEES. NEPAL. SOCIAL SECURITY FUND MEDICAL INSURENCE WHILE ON DUTY

2. HOW ARE THE MAIN SCHEMES FUNDED ? INDIA. EPF EMPLOYER + EMPLOYES ( 12%+12% of monthly wage) ESI. EMPLOYER + EMPLOYEES ( %) GRATUATY. BY EMPLOYER UNORGANIZED SSS ACT. 1% CESS ON PRODUCT MG NREGA AND SA. BY GOVERNMENT SRILANKA. Government pension scheme. Government share 4% PF in private sector EMPLOYER+ EMPLOYEE (12%+8%) NEPAL. SOCIAL SECURITY FUND. EMPLOYER = EMPLOYEE (10%+10%)

4. WHAT IS THE SITUATION OF WOMAN IN TERMS OF SOCIAL SECURITY SCHEMES COVERAGE ? ELIGIBILITY ? ENTITLEMENT INDIA Above all facilities are eligible by woman in India and in addition there is a LAW OF EQUAL RENUMARATUIN,MATERNITY AND PATERNITY BENEFIT,CHILD CARE CENTRES (WHERE 50 OR MORE WORKERS EMPLOYED) NEPAL Maternity law,creches. SRI LANKA Maternity benefit and employer pays Rs 500 as child care.

5. SOCIAL SECURITY FUNDS : INVESTMENT PATTERN ? MANAGEMENT, (PUBLIC AND PRIVATE) ? WORKERS PARTICIPATION INDIA EPF : 40% in government security 40% in psu securities 20% may be in private securities ESI AND OTHER SCHEMES - In Government securities. MANAGED BY TRIPARTITE COMMITTEES IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PARTICIPATION SRI LANKA GOVERNMENT SECURITIES NEPAL GOVERNMENT SECURITIES
