Housatonic Council 2011 FOS Family Campaign The Friends of Scouting (FOS) Family Campaign was created to raise money for our Council to support our operating budget. FOS Campaign not only supports our Scout programs and Camp but ensure the financial stability of our council. Housatonic Council, as well as our members, have been through difficult times. We will continue to be good financial stewards and stretch every dollar. 2

FOS Family Campaign Facts Housatonic Council’s (HC) total budget is ≈ $460,000 FOS Family Campaign goal is $35,500 (<8% of our budget) With approximately 1030 ‘traditional’ Scouts in Council, the cost per Scout is approximately $446 to maintain the current level of service and programs Other sources of revenue like the United Way (≈ 12% of our budget) help but your FOS contribution is just as important! Your FOS gift to Housatonic Council is 100% tax deductible Donations of $150 or more receive a 2011 Council Shoulder Patch (CSP) as special thanks for your generous support! 3
