Class Projects Class projects are designed to do two things: (1) To improve written communication by an action assignment and… (2) To encourage completion of elements of career planning by doing selected assignments.

1.The written projects chosen were effective in accomplishing these two objectives. a. Strongly Agree b. Agree c. Slightly Agree d. Disagree e. Strongly Disagree

2.By design, the written projects were assigned roughly three times more value because they take about that much more time to complete. Many students prefer to do one project in lieu of coming to three different classes. What is your opinion of this statement? The written projects required about three times more time to complete. a. Strongly Agree b. Agree c. Slightly Agree d. Disagree e. Strongly Disagree

3.Every project was optional. However, given the importance of the resume project, a strong incentive was given. The optional projects selected are projects that a very high percentage of graduates would eventually have to complete anyway. What is your opinion of this statement? The projects which I selected to complete should prove helpful to me in my career planning endeavors. a. Strongly Agree b. Agree c. Slightly Agree d. Disagree e. Strongly Disagree

4.The BPO Bid System has some imperfections and is continually being modified and improved based on student input. But, nothing is perfect. The suggestion has been made to give fewer bids, (especially priority bids), to force students to value them more and to spend them more wisely. What is your opinion? Students should NOT be given fewer priority bids in order to force a higher value being placed upon them by students. a. Strongly Agree b. Agree c. Slightly Agree d. Disagree e. Strongly Disagree

5.The BPO Bid System should NOT be changed to a chance lottery. It should REMAIN a bid system based on qualifications, company input, and a point system. a. Strongly Agree b. Agree c. Slightly Agree d. Disagree e. Strongly Disagree

6.Should December graduates be given a priority during the fall? a. Yes, maintain the current system. b. Yes, but lower the priority even if employers complain. c. No, but allow unplaced December grads to interview in the spring. d. No. It is just bad luck that some students had to graduate in December.

The BPO Bid System assigns a strong priority to December Graduates during the fall semester and then does not permit December graduates to interview during the spring. Year-end statistics show that on average, December grads and other majors have taken an equal number of interviews. Employers interviewing in the fall often have immediate openings and prefer to see December graduates as a priority since they can interview others during their return visit in the spring. Some Non-December grads have requested that the BPO remove the strong priority for December grads. Many employers have insisted on the priority, so we have a conflict. Many employers threaten to stop coming in the fall. We need your opinion.
