GIFTS of the SPIRIT: The NORMAL Life Hebrews 2:1-4 1 Cor 12:7-11

Hebrews 2:1-4 Do not drift away…. or ignore so great a salvation which was confirmed to us by those who heard Him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.

1 Corinthians 12 4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

1 Corinthians 12 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

Tongues This is a spontaneous Holy Spirit inspired message spoken in a language the person giving it does not know. It could be a heavenly language used by the angels or a human language. The gift of tongues may possibly be understood by someone hearing the message in their own native language.

Interpretation of Tongues When a message in tongues has been given, then the Interpretation of Tongues goes into operation. The message that has been given in tongues is interpreted supernaturally by the Holy Spirit through another person, without their mental abilities being involved.

Prophecy Prophecy is a spontaneous, supernatural message from God foretelling something of the future or forthtelling an important message in the known language of the people. It will strengthen, encourage and comfort the body of Christ.

Discerning of Spirits This is the supernatural gift of perception given sovereignly by God to enable a person to distinguish the motivating spirit behind certain words or deeds, and to recognize spiritual activity either of God or the enemy.

Word of Knowledge This is the revelation of information concerning a particular person or situation that can only be supernaturally revealed. It cannot be seen or heard or known naturally.

Word of Wisdom A supernatural revelation from God that gives instant direction regarding a specific situation or need arising and how that situation is to be resolved.

Gift of Faith A supernatural surge of faith which suddenly gives a person the absolute assurance that God is about to act in a specific situation, and they are given the authority to believe, speak or act through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Gifts of Healing God supernaturally heals the sick through a person’s anointed actions with the power of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes it’s instant healing and sometimes it’s an accelerated healing - in either case it’s greater than the body’s natural healing process, it’s supernatural healing.

Working of Miracles This gift operates through individuals by the supernatural intervention of the Holy Spirit to temporarily suspend the course of nature as it is normally understood.

Prayer to Activate the Gifts of the HS Lord, I want to live a supernatural life moving with the Gifts of Your Holy Spirit. I want to see Your love and Your power actively touching people through my life. I refuse to let anything hold me back. I renounce all fear and unbelief and right now I command their hold over me broken, in Jesus’ name.

I ask for boldness to be one of those uncommon people who is used by God to do mighty works in Your Kingdom in uncommon places. Holy Spirit, I am ready for You to activate Your Gifts in my life NOW, not tomorrow or next week or next year, but NOW, and I ask that You would use me whenever, wherever, with whomever you desire I pray in Jesus’ holy name. Amen
