Overview of CSUN Outreach Efforts GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) – Competitive Grant from US DOE – Eleven Schools Goal: To significantly increase the number of low income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. TRiO (Educational Talent Search (2) and Upward Bound Programs) – Competitive Grant from US DOE – Fifteen ETS Schools (9 Middle Schools/6 High Schools) and Three Upward Bound High Schools Goal -To increase the number of first generation and low income students that attend postsecondary institutions.
