Presentation transcript:

Name:Single PointLevel 1Class: You will learn: How to How to create an image with depth using single point perspective. To complete this exercise you will need: Carta/A4Paper 30cm Ruler Pencil Coloured pencils. Key words to remember: architecture, vertical, vanishing point. You will create: A street scene with a road drifting away into the distance. You will remember: How to use a ruler with accuracy.

Name:TitleDate:Class: Complete your basic page layout. Measure up the y axis 100mm and draw a horizontal line. Measure along the x axis 80mm and draw a vertical line. 100mm 80mm Make your vanishing point

Name:TitleDate:Class: This point is called the vanishing point and it rests on the horizon. If we understand that everything appears smaller the further away from us. At some point it is going to become too small for us to see. Draw a line from each corner of your page to the vanishing point.

Name:TitleDate:Class: By creating lines that come from the vanishing point we have the sense of things getting smaller as they move away from us. By adding vertical lines for the walls of buildings we begin to see the street scene.

Name:TitleDate:Class: Using lines to the vanishing point and vertical lines we can now add bolder lines to design our own buildings. Doors and windows also use lines to the vanishing point and verticals.

Name:TitleDate:Class: Horizontal lines are used to show the sides of buildings or objects that face us. What can you add to your street to create detail and interest?

Name:TitleDate:Class: Bright colours stand out so press hard with your coloured pencils on close objects but softer on objects far away.

Name:Single PointLevel 1Class: Success Criteria: 6. I have drawn a street scene which includes recognisable buildings, doors, windows and some details. 7. I have also managed to utilize all the correct angles. Using lines to the vanishing point where neccessary 8. I have added three dimensional objects that are not buildings. 9. I have created a range of architectural style within my buildings. 10. I have displayed control in the quality of finish showing tone, colour and texture. How did you do? Can you improve your drawing? Key words to remember: architecture, vertical, vanishing point.
