Data used DepEd schools with tracks and capacity Private schools (and HEIS) with preferred tracks Private schools (and HEIs) without preferred tracks Approved TESDA schools Approved SUCs to offer SHS with tracks (10) Approved SUCs to offer SHS without tracks (28) CHED enrollment data by PSCED Mapping of PCED to SHS tracks DepEd tracks ratio at the regional level
Determining supply by tracks DepEd schools with tracks and capacity Used stated tracks and capacity Private HEIs and SUCs with tracks Calculated capacity based on current enrollment For preference scenario, considered only slots in tracks preferred; rest not included Non-DepEd private HEIs and SUCs without tracks Calculated capacity based on current enrollment; allocated to tracks based on current enrollment composition by course mapped into SHS tracks; assumes that enrollment means they have capacity to offer that track
Determining supply by tracks Non-DepEd secondary schools with or without tracks No enrollment and tracks data Roughly, we use DepEd’s Facts and Figures data as of October 25, Dividing the total enrollment by the number of schools, and further assuming that these schools offer 4 years of high school, we divide by 4 to get one year level of enrollment. In SY (latest figure), we estimate a year level of high school per school to have 70 students. Tracks – used the by track proportion applied to DepEd schools Approved TESDA schools Capacity is average enrollment in TTI schools by region All assigned to TVL track

Scholarships for Graduate Studies and Professional Advancement We are in the process of developing the policies for scholarships, through our Technical Working Group headed by Dr. Ben Malayang (Siliman University) and Dr. Ester Garcia (University of the East, CHED-FDP). Prioritization of scholarships take into account: Estimated displacement (with PIDS and UP Pop I) Need to diversify disciplinal expertise (with CHED Technical Panels and Committees) Support to regional development (with NEDA) Effort to harmonize with DOST scholarships and STEAM targets
Faculty and Staff Development Grants ● Identified typologies of grants under the FSDG components ● Developing modules of Industry Immersion per targeted Industry - The TWG is currently identifying partner industries ● Ongoing design of ‘combination grants’: ○ Continued Professional Education creditable towards Master’s degrees in Teaching and Learning ○ Joint Community Extension Programs and Applied Research towards addressing research needs among government agencies ○ Continued Professional Education in SHS Retraining directed to support Senior High School Admin and Faculty
Innovation Grants for Institutions ● Exploratory meeting with USAID and DTI for possible convening of Tripartite Academe-Industry-LGU councils of key cities for the K12 Transition Program. ● Exploratory meeting with British Council for possible collaborations in Internationalization initiatives.
Regional Transition Planning & Faculty Development Workshops in cooperation with PASUC & COCOPEA ● We are currently developing an HEI Template and Workshop Design for Transition Planning and Faculty Development to provide Private and Public HEIs with a tool to assist in their faculty load planning for the Transition Period. ● As in the experience of many schools, this model will allow them to better approximate impact on faculty. ● We are in discussions with PASUC and COCOPEA to organize regional workshops this October 2015.
