Presentation transcript:

Welcome! We hope you enjoyed the summer break and are ready for another fun term at Addlestone Preschool! An especially warm welcome to all our new starters – we hope you will enjoy exploring the setting and making new friends. Our previous Manager Tessa has decided to move onto new ventures and we are delighted to announce that Rachel Flynn has agreed to take on the role as Addlestone Preschool Manager. Rachel has been with the preschool since 2008 and has been our deputy manager for the past two years. She comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience and has some fantastic ideas for the year ahead. We are also pleased to inform you that Rachel will be supported by her new deputy Lisa Wye. Lisa has been with the preschool since 2010 and together we know that they will make a great team. A warm welcome to Carol & Vicki We would like to give a warm Addlestone Preschool Welcome to Vicki and welcome back Carol. Vicki joins us with over 18 years of Childcare experience and she is looking forward to working as part of the team after spending some years Nannying. Carol comes back to us after 3 years of managing Walton’s Sure Start Nursery – she has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the Early Years foundation stage curriculum and also of Addlestone Preschool. The New Pre-school Administrator Dawn Hurst (Vinnie’s Mum) has taken on the role of Pre-school Administrator. The Pre-School Administrator phone number is the same and you can still send s to The New Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum An will be sent to you which explains the changes made and how it will affect your child. If you have not received this or would like the attached documents printed out, please ask a member of staff who will be able to obtain this for you. Please remember: Uniform must be named. Please provide a set of spare clothes for your child and a named water bottle. No parking in the school grounds. No smoking in the school grounds. If your child has had sickness or an upset stomach they must be kept away from school for 48 hours. If you are sending money, medication or other important items into the preschool with your child, please remember to hand to a member of staff - do not leave in your child’s bag. Please remember that if you have any concerns we are always available at the beginning or end of the session or we will arrange a convenient time for you to speak to us. However, we do ask that you wait for all children to be safely collected at the end of a session before approaching a member of staff. September 2012 Paying your fees by bank transfer In an attempt to minimise bank charges and simplify the payment process, we are encouraging parents to try to pay fees via bank transfer. Your invoice now includes our bank details if you wish to pay in this way. Please use your child’s name as the payment reference so that we are able to track the payment. Payments for Autumn Term are due by: Monday 17 th September and Monday 12 th November If you have any issues with meeting these deadlines or for another copy of your invoice please feel free to speak with Dawn about this. Alternatively, Cheques can be written to Addlestone Pre-school and handed into a member of staff and we also accept Child care vouchers.

Our Themes for this half term Our theme for this half term is Nursery Rhymes because of national Book Week and Rhyming Week. With the children in the Morning session, we will be making Humpty Dumpty’s, Constructing Walls, painting bricks, making a “feelings” wall and using ladders to help Humpty down. The children have also showed an interest in dinosaurs so we have been doing some activities around this. For the afternoon children our focus will be settling them in, saying goodbye to Mum and Dad and helping them get used to the Pre-School & of course their Key worker. A list of photo’s will be put up in the classroom to clearly identify who will be your Child’s key worker. Contact details Please can you let a member of staff know if any of your contact details have changed over summer. It is vital to have the right details for you, for correspondence and if there is any reason we need to get hold of you. Session times: Morning sessions: 9.00am to Afternoon sessions: to 3.00 Autumn Term dates: Monday 10th Sept 2012 – Friday 14th Dec 2012 Half Term Monday 29th Oct 2012 – Friday 2 nd Nov 2012 Fundraising and committee meetings All parents are welcome to join the committee and help with anything from fundraising to recruitment. If you’d like to learn more about what we do, please come along to our next committee meeting dates for 2012/13 are: Wednesday 3 rd October 2012 (8pm) Wednesday 14 th November 2012 (AGM) Wednesday 16 th January 2012 Wednesday 6 th March 2012 Wednesday 1 st May 2012 Wednesday 12 th June 2012 We’ll also be sending out news of planned fundraising events soon. Children will have an opportunity to take turns in taking the bear home with them for a weekend. Then returning the bear when they are next in Pre-school. We would like to encourage parents in involving bear in your activities at home and helping your child record what Boo Boo has been up to in Boo Boo’s diary.
