Nordic Centre of Excellence in Education Justice through Education in the Nordic Countries (JustEd) Gunilla Holm University of Helsinki

How does education work to further justice in the Nordic states? We will critically examine how differences and similarities in Nordic educational policies, structures, cultures and practices come to matter for, teachers and students in terms of equity and equality.

‘One school for all’ – educated populations -- a democratic welfare state Societal and economic goals Changes in the Nordic understanding of why and how justice through education is attained Changes in educational structures, cultures as well as in teaching and learning practices Marginalization and diversity
