Warm up This is a high school classroom from the 1920’s. Describe all of the changes in culture from then, to now that you see.

Causes of cultural change Technology New ideas Lifestyles Inventions Trade – interaction with other people Movement = migration

Cultural Hearths…where did it start? From the information in the book; identify, color and describe the 5 cultural hearths of the world. What do you notice about all 5, what features do they all share? What did the availability of surplus crops have on civilizations? What is globalization and how have you benefitted from it?

Globalization

Take an inventory of everything you have with you and where it was made Smart phone made in ________. Sweater made in ____________. Jeans made in ______________. Purse made in ______________. Etc. Everything that you have with you today needs to be listed.

Infographics

Create an infographic of the items you inventoried in class yesterday. Things to include: - determine percentages of where the items came from. example: if 2/ 6 things you inventoried came from China, 3/6 of your stuff came from the U. S. and 1/6 came from Malaysia; then 33% of your belongings came from China, 50 % came from the U. S. and 17% came from Malaysia. - Must include at least 1 chart/ graph depicting something of your choosing. - Utilize pictures as necessary, I do not want a report of just words. - On the map, color in all the countries from where your possessions came. - You may google “infographics” if you need clarification on what they are.
