KISEKI You and I were born Right here in the same world For this one brief life We’re beneath the same sky The greath flow of Time The wide expanse of Space We are lucky enough to share this lifetime we get We can gain more if we give By taking we only lose Let us make this a new age Where we show our gratitude

There’s a fragile bud of hope Blooming in each of our hearts Don’t you take that away Our dreams are meant to be shared Let it grow, let it live Let us see what it will bring When we share in our love We make a beautiful world Search it out, and find the way: The point were we can all meet The point where we’re all the same There it lies: the future we seek

Start from here, and then we’ll forge A world where all can be free Free to dream, free to smile Free to be who we will be Let’s make sure we create… A world of our hopes and dreams ||: In our brief lives We’ve managed to meet Treasure this gift This precious time that we have :||

Open Response I In the Fourth Bimester of English, our topic is expression through poetry. This time, we get to analyze a song we like or that applies to our life. I chose a song named KISEKI (Japanese for Miracles), which is the Ending Theme of Pokémon X and Y. The song’s lyrics are in 7 languages, but I’ll analyze the English lyrics. I chose this song because the 7 languages symbolize union, and the song reminds me of all my true friends, who are people I don’t want to lose.

At the beginning, the song talks about people that are lucky they have met. As the song goes, it talks about creating and giving, making “this a new age, where we show our gratitude”. Then, the song talks about having a dream and taking care of it, because “our dreams are meant to be shared”. Next, the song talks about seeking a future “where all can be free. Free to dream, free to smile, free to be who we will be”. The song ends with this verse: “||: In our brief lives, we’ve managed to meet, treasure this gift, this precious time that we have”.

If I were to write a song, I’d write something like KISEKI, something with a message of hope and union. Why? Because, sometimes, a song can give hope to people and bring them close.

Ballad of Ronfaure Come my dear children, sit, and hear a story The story of a valiant man who fought a dragon Come and bring your tea, sit, and listen me ‘cus I’m gonna tell you a tale, a tale of braveness and love, of braveness and love ‘Twas year eight six one of the Crystal Time Vana’diel was in a war with a great dragon The King of a town brought a man to him ‘nd told the man «Kill the dragon and glory shall fall in you» And, so the man roamed through vast plains And, so the man crossed great lakes Then, the man reached the cave Where, the legendary beast dwelled

When the beast and man saw front to front They engaged a bloody combat that went to death The man could slay the great, great beast But the dragon, I can tell you, almost ate the man So the man returned to home ‘cheiving victory The king recognised the man with promised glory The King also had the man take the hand The hand of the Princess. Now They’re husband and wife Here the story ends, I hope you’ve liked it It took me years of roaming To gather for you the tale The tale of braveness and…

From Dad with Love (free verse) You may be confused And you are sorta blue Maybe something you've been used to? Well, not finding yourself isn't very bad You don't know exactly who you are But you can determine who you wanna be You may not find answers in a tavern But you can look for them in a travel Look for it, young lad Find yourself Find your place Look for it, go to it

A place you love A place you long It doesn't have to be like a paradise, But it has to be a place you want to be Determine who you want to be Live life to the maximum, Like if today was your last day And you'll find your purpose and goals Don't let anyone take your chance Travel, be happy, find yourself Soon you'll know your purpose in life -Love, Dad.

Final Reflection On this Fourth Bimester of English Class, we analyzed poetry; I enjoyed this Bimester because I like poetry (a lot). For me, poetry is expressing with words something rather complex in a simple way; a form of art that can make majestic something that may not be that majestic. I consider life as a self- expanding poem, because we are full with feelings, passion, and joy to create. I could use poetry to explain the most complex feelings or things that happen in life. On this Bimester, I learned a few different types of poem based on their structure. Since I've always liked poetry, I remained with a positive view of poetry until the end, and I still have a positive view. I'm not 100% poet, but my favorite part was writing the poems, but the thing I didn't like at all was choosing 3 poetic devices for my ballad, because I had a very bad time!
