What is ‘Early Years’ * Communication and Language * Literacy * Mathematics * Understanding the World * Expressive Arts and Design * Physical Development * Personal, Social and Emotional Development The children also have 1 PE lesson a week. ICT is incorporated across the curriculum. Children will have access to the indoor and outdoor classroom Each area is carefully planned for and incorporates activities from each of the 7 areas of learning, made up of adult-led and independent activities.

THE PRE-VISIT Play and stay sessions Monday 20 th June to Thursday 24 th June Monday 4 th July to Thursday 8 th July The purpose of the visit is: - To meet the Class Teacher and Support Staff. - To enable the children to become familiar with the classroom, where the toilets are and where to put their coats and bags, etc. To show the children the different areas of learning.

POINTERS FOR THE FIRST DAY School gate opens at 8:45am. You will bring your child up to the reception classroom gate. The children will be met by myself and directed into the classroom. Parents cannot come into the classroom. We appreciate that some children may get distressed, but please allow the staff to guide them in.

* Children will take their own coats off and be supported to do this and hang them up if necessary (please make sure they are labelled). * Children can bring a water bottle and this must be labelled – they bring this in themselves. * School finishes at 3:15pm to collect your child. It is important that the younger sibling is collected first before older siblings please. * Please make sure we know who is collecting your child at the end of the day and if there are changes, please phone the office
