When selecting points to find try to use points that are not too difficult to find. For example, small numbers or numbers that will cancel with fractions.
An equation that has just one variable has a graph that is either a horizontal or a vertical line. If the equation has only an x the line is vertical, if the equation only uses a y the line is horizontal. To graph it solve for the variable and the graph passes through that spot on the corresponding axis.
