Changes and Why Technology Centers/Skills Centers: When trying to summarize the data, we (the ODCTE) had to choose which career majors fell under a “group” – Example: How many welders do you produce? Pathway is Welding and Metal Fabrication Over 20 Career Majors associated with Welding The ODCTE is no longer going to approve courses – Technology Centers WILL need courses and hours for the courses

Technology Center Full-Time Programs Where We WereWhere We Are Going Career Clusters Career Pathways Career Majors Courses Career Clusters Career Pathways State Program Area Local Program (Career Major) Courses

Example Where We WereWhere We Are Going Cluster: Manufacturing Pathway: Welding and Metal Fabrication Career Majors: Beginning Metal Fabricator Metal Fabricator Industrial Fabrication Technology Metal Fabrication Technology 20 Welding Career Majors Cluster: Manufacturing Pathway: Welding and Metal Fabrication State Program Area: Metal Fabrication Local Programs: Beginning Metal Fabricator Metal Fabricator Industrial Fabrication Technology Metal Fabrication Technology

Technology Center Full-Time Programs Alignment to Occupations – Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) Machinists Electricians – Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) Machine Tool Technology/Machinist Electrician – CIPs and SOCs Many are similar, however there are some differences Used for financial aid Oklahoma Top 100 Occupations identified by Oklahoma Dept. of Commerce
