Lesson Objective Talking Points Today you are going to start learning about discussing how you spend free time. We will also learn how to talk about the most (or the least) of an adjective. 1. What are your hobbies? 2. How important is free time to you? 3. What holidays do you like celebrating?

Word Power! boring (adj.) [ 'b ɔ :riŋ ] This describes something dull and uninteresting. The last football game I went top was so boring, nothing really happened. movie theater (n.) ['mu:vi 'θiətə(r)] A big hall with seats and a large screen used to watch movies. Do you often go to the movie theater? to celebrate (v.) [ tu ] [ 'selibreit ] To have or participate in a party. I love to celebrate my birthday in a big way, and to invite loads of my friends. concert (n.) [ 'k ɔ nsət ] A professional musical performance, usually done on stage. Are you going to the concert on Friday night, I think it will be good. holiday (n.) [ 'h ɔ lədi] A day on which one doesn't work. Everyone likes to enjoy public holidays with their family. party (n.) Grammar: Superlatives! The superlative of something is the most (or the least) of a descriptive quality. With short adjectives, superlatives are structured as follows: Examples:She would choose the cheapest car possible. Even his ugliest clothes are better looking than mine. Short Adjectives are those having one or – if the adjective ends in ‘-er,’ ‘-ow,’ ‘-le,’ ‘-y’ -- two syllables. A final ‘y’ is replaced by an ‘i’ before the ‘-est.’ With long adjectives, superlatives are structured as follows: Examples:These guys are the most intelligent I’ve ever met. It will soon by July 4 th, the most popular American holiday. Negative superlatives are formed by using ‘the least’ + [adjective]. Example:She’s the least outgoing of my friends.
