Aiming for A/A* Make sure that you are fully prepared for A- Level Maths Need A/A* to do A-Level Further Maths Russell Group Universities prefer at least an A for degree courses with mathematical content Stand out! A* is top 5% A is top 15% B is top 30%
Aiming for a B Minimum GCSE Maths grade required to do Maths A- Level and Science A-Levels Minimum GCSE Maths grade required to study courses with a mathematical content at university. E.g.: Psychology, Computing, Economics, Engineering, Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Veterinary Science etc… Stand out from the crowd: with more students getting grade C than ever before, having a B gives you an advantage over them A = top 15% B = top 30% C = top 60%
Aiming for a C Minimum standard (with GCSE English grade C) for getting on to level 3 qualifications. Minimum standard for many different jobs and qualifications Earn on average £4,500 per year more than people without. Any sort of teaching/education job required C+ in English and Maths including early years. The government says so! You will have to resit if you don’t. You are unlikely to get the same level of support and teaching towards it as you will this year.
