+ Thursday, March 29, 2012 SO MUCH to do today – before the bell rings, please do the following: Get your iPad Log into Evernote app (if you don’t have it, raise your hand and I will download it for you!) Log into Locate your sources (in other words: if you ed them to yourself, log in to your account IN SAFARI)

+ What do I need to do today? Thursday, March 29, 2012 STEP 1: Find and open FIVE sources. Should be done TODAY. STEP 2: Create citation for each source. Should be done TODAY. STEP 3: Create one note per source in Evernote. Should be completed by start of class on Monday, 4/2. STEP 4: Identify concrete details/quotes from each source. Should be done by the start of class on Tuesday, 4/3.

+ STEP 1: Find and open FIVE sources. I expect you to have at least five sources by the end of class today. If you do not, you must find them by Monday. Open each source - this will make your next step much easier!

+ STEP 2: Create citation for each source In bibme.org: 1. Copy URL and paste into bibme.org website window; OR 2. Manually enter details for your web-based article Be sure you save after each entry! Find the citation for your article (usually, it’s at the very bottom of the page). WEBSITES FROM SAFARIONLINE DATABASES

+ STEP 3: Create one note per source in Evernote. 1. Looking at each citation, determine which would appear first in an alphabetical list. 2. Create a new note in Evernote titled Source A. 3. Copy citation (either from bibme.org or from online DB article) and paste it into the note. 4. Repeat for which source would fall 2 nd in an alphabetical list; create a new note titled Source B. 5. Repeat until you have 5 notes in Evernote: Source A, Source B, Source C, Source D, and Source E.

+ STEP 4: Identify concrete details/quotes from each source. 1. Read through Source A and locate quotes that you believe will work well in answering your research EQ. 2. Copy each quote into the Evernote note for the designated source. 3. Follow each quote with your commentary, and, in parentheses afterwards, the word PRO or CON, depending on whether the quote agrees or disagrees with your question. 4. Goal: obtain 3-4 quotes per source; you certainly can get more though! NEED TO KNOW WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR? Go to my website, visit the RESEARCH PAPER 2012 link, and click on the handout for Electronic Note Cards and read page 2.
