Excretory System Job: To filter out and eliminate metabolic, cellular waste -in the form of nitrogenous wastes Nitrogenous Waste: cells create ammonia.
By Tommy, Madysen, and Alex.  Cells produce waste chemicals.  Cellular waste is removed by your kidneys.  Kidneys make the waste chemicals into urine.

Renal Function Tests Analysis of blood and urine samples can be essential for the evaluation of kidney (renal) function. The following are some of the basic renal function tests : 1. Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) Reveals important information about how well the kidneys and liver are working.

nitrogen  liver produces ammonia — which contains nitrogen — after it breaks down proteins used by body's cells.  The nitrogen combines with other elements, such as carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, to form urea, which is a chemical waste product.  The urea travels from liver to kidneys through bloodstream.  Healthy kidneys filter urea and remove other waste products from blood.  The filtered waste products leave the body through urine.

Why it's done Why it's done  Kidney damage  Kidney function needs to be evaluated  Liver damage, urinary tract obstruction, congestive heart failure or gastrointestinal bleeding. Results  Blood urea nitrogen test are measured in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) or in millimoles per liter (mmol/L) internationally.  In general, 7 to 20 mg/dL (2.5 to 7.1 mmol/L) is considered normal.  A normal result for creatinine is 0.7 to 1.3 mg/dL for men and 0.6 to 1.1 mg/dL for women.
