Who wants a cookie?

General STI Information If a person does show STI symptoms, they usually occur 2-5 weeks after exposure the most common symptom of all STIs is NO SYMPTOMS AT ALL STIs can be passed on even when someone is asymptomatic the majority of people passing on STIs are unaware that they are infected Even if someone was showing symptoms, they could easily go unnoticed As a rule of thumb: bacterial STIs can be treated with antibiotics, viral STIs are lifelong

Risk Factors for STIs having unprotected sex having multiple partners having a history of STIs abusing alcohol or other drugs injecting drugs being an adolescent female some STIs can leave a person INFERTILE (also known as STERILE ) for the rest of their lives

Testing for STIs can be done with tissue, urine and/or blood doctors office, at-home kits, clinics Treatment depends on the infection, but may be possible through prescription antibiotics

Preventing STIs the ONLY way to be 100% sure you will not get an STI is to.... NOT HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE condoms are the second most effective
