Hotels make up most of the lodging industry Hotels can be categorized by type, price range, or location. What’s the difference between a hotel and a motel?

Luxury hotels are the fanciest and most expensive Luxury hotels have the most amenities: high-quality soaps and shampoos, bathrobes, big TVs, great views. Can you name other amenities that people enjoy in hotels?

Resort hotels offer activities on site Many resorts are all-inclusive: they are designed so that you never have to leave. Casinos Health resorts Golf resorts Ski resorts Dude ranches What’s the name of a famous American resort for families?

Full-service hotels are in the midlevel price range Full-service hotels offer many amenities but are not as luxurious. They also cost less. Many have conference rooms and Internet access to appeal to business travelers. What else do business travelers need in a hotel?

Extended-stay hotels rent by the week or month Features of extended-stay hotels include kitchens, living areas, and small office areas. Why might someone need this kind of hotel?

Limited-service hotels appeal to people on a budget These hotels are the most economical. They also offer some amenities. Can you name some limited-service hotel chains?
