Talk for writing What is talk for writing? Talk for Writing enables children to imitate the key language they need for a particular topic orally before they try reading and analysing it. Through fun activities that help them rehearse the tune of the language they need, followed by shared writing to show them how to craft their writing, children are helped to write in the same style.

Writing Tips - EYFS Early writing tips: – Develop gross and fine motor skills through throwing and catching games – Cook together- peel, chop, mash… – Different materials to cut and stick – Building bricks that interlock – Make things from playdough – Talk about their writing and what it means to them – Help them to write and read their name – Practise writing letters in different media – Allow them to mark make and write independently – Make maps, photo books, – Jigsaws
