Project Overview Brownfields are generally considered to be abandoned or underutilized properties (especially industrial and commercial facilities) where redevelopment or expansion may be complicated by possible environmental (real or perceived) (USEPA)

Project Overview

The purpose of this Grant is to assist communities and its property owners in order to spur economic development. The properties being considered for environmental assessment activities are generally located in areas included in the Village Center Enhancement Plan (the Plan). The Plan was prepared by the Village in 2005, with a second phase in 2008, to establish the boundaries and potential for transit-oriented redevelopment within the Village. The Plan addresses the redevelopment of properties for creating jobs, increasing tax revenue, and creating a better quality of life for Village residents.

Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Phase I ESA will be conducted in accordance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process E The objective of the Phase I ESA is to identify conditions that, through the review of certain reasonably available information, may indicate the presence of a recognized environmental condition.
