Mock Action Research Presentation Marie Baker EDU 671 Fundamentals of Educational Research Instructor: Kathy Hoover October 15, 2015

Area of Focus Behavior modification for children the ages of 2 & 3 Two males and two females

Research Questions 1. How can I make my classroom management effective? 2. How do the children’s reactions to new strategies show their effectiveness?

Locus of Control Extrinsic rewards- For the reward Intrinsic rewards- For the interest and self- satisfaction

Data Collection Mixed Method Approach 1. Qualitative 2. Quanitative

Ethics Discussion with parents about this study and the reason why Ensure the parents that all information collected will be used and kept confidential

Reflective Stance I will go to other teachers with any questions and concerns I can gain new insights and ideas from them I will share what I have tried so far I will research more strategies and tips on behavior in the classroom

Intervention/Innovations Use redirection- move the child to another activity or area Rewards/ Consequences

Timeline Week 1- Go over schedule, routines, and rules Week 2- Do observations and record behaviors, what time od day, and which area Week 3- I will create a plan for new strategies to implement into the classroom Week 4- I will do assessments and determine which strategy works with each child and helped them in behavioral and academic areas
