VISION: Mission (A peaceful, just, equitable and democratic Nepal where women from diverse groups have equal participation in all spheres of society) OBJECTIVE: To enable diverse groups of women to be visibly engaged at all levels of the Constituent Assembly and the peace building process.

 Conducted Central level TOT (Training of Trainers) with diverse 65 participants from 27 districts; followed by 9 regional-level TOTs with 471 participants covering 73 districts  Developed Strategic Planning of the network (3-4 th April, 2007)  Graduates of the Central level TOT conducted 2-3 district-level and community level orientation/workshops each; related to the CA elections, women's rights, and other aspects of the peace process in 55 districts with about participants.  Implemented various activities related to lobbying on women's representation in the CA, Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), and Transitional Justice  Initiated interaction and lobbying activities to build solidarity with other women's organizations in Nepal  Published the first "Who is Who of Nepali Women?" and documented data on over 3200 women from 74 districts  Published training manuals on Constituent Assembly, Peace Process, Transitional Justice, UN SCR 1325 and Social Inclusion in Nepali and Braille

 Supported the first ever "Journalist Women's Conference" and "Madhesi Women's Conference" in Nepal  Supported 16 local level organizations to expand outreach and reach grassroots level women to create awareness about Constituent Assembly and Voter's Education before the CA election  Worked in close coordination with community level organizations/groups to organize orientation program on CA and voter's education in 50 districts  Contributed indirectly to the participation of a large numbers of women from Dalits, Indigenous, Muslims and other groups in the CA due to WAPPDCA's field level activities prior to the CA elections  Initiated and coordinated the felicitation program to honor newly elected 197 women CA members with other 16 other women organizations and networks to develop solidarity among women groups  Conducted English Language Classes for women CA members (30 members participated)

 Conducted 9 Regional Workshops to identify the issues of diverse groups to be incorporated in the new constitution with a participation of 500 participants from 67 districts.  Participation in National Human Rights Magna Meet 2009 on the occasion of International Human Rights Day  Conducted the Gender and Legal Analysis on the Concept Papers on the CA Thematic Committees  Coordinated work with Women CA caucus to interact them on UNSCR 1325 and its implementation and Women's issues in the new constitution  Organized National Movement building workshop with the participation of 53 key activists from 22 districts  Organized Peace Vigil in coordination with Naagarik Aawaj from th June at Maitighar Mandala  Coordinated and supported National Action Plan Building Workshop for 1325/1820 organized by Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction (Final Draft of NAP is prepared and is in process of submitting to the cabinet)  Celebrated International Peace Day on 21 st Sept (Exhibition +district programs

 WAPPDCA/Sankalpa: an outcome of a peoples’ movement  practicing movement building works since its establishment  National Women Movement Workshop, April,’10  Pokhara Workshop August, ‘10 (Institutional Building, Guiding Principles)  Solidarity work with existing women groups/networks  Continued Movement building process (CA related activities, Intl’ Peace Day, Intl’ Women’s Day, Disabled Day, 16 day Activism against VAW, Women’s Pressure Campaign for inclusive & progressive Constitution)  Movement Building Cluster Workshop, Pokhara, Bardiya & Dhankuta - 10 th - 12 th, 14 th – 16 th, 28 th -30 th January, 2011 respectively.  Collective pressure campaign for Peace & Constitution from April 16 th – May 28 th, 2011 first phase & continuation of second phase from 15 th June, 2011 – till date

Goal: Women’s representation and rights are ensured in the government, political parties, private sectors at all levels and conflict affected women have access to social justice. Purpose:  The implementation of the National Action Plan of UNSCR 1325 and 1820 shows that the relevant state and non state actors are functioning in a coordinated way to achieve national indicators of the five pillars.  Increased representation of women in political parties, civil service and national and sub national governance structures

Impact: Ensured rights of women in peace & development of Nepal  Outcome 1: Women and men are better organized and demonstrate unity in diversity to ensure representation at national and sub national governance structures, political parties and civil service.  Outcome 2: Women activists and organizations are increasingly lobbying for women’s rights and transitional justice using UNSCR 1325 and 1820 NAP as a tool.  Outcome 3: Sankalpa demonstrates significant institutional and organizational transformation in terms of human resources and project management cycle.
