LETTERING LETTERING IS THE TERM USED TO DESCRIBE THE TRADITIONAL HANDMADE LETTERS AND NUMBERS ON A DRAWING. TEXT IS THE TERM FOR LETTERING THAT IS DONE USING COMPUTER-AIDED DRAFTING ANNOTATION IS COMMONLY USED IN ARCHITECTURAL CADD APPLICATIONS TO REFER ANY TEXT, NOTES, DIMENSIONS, AND TEXT SYMBOLS ON A DRAWING TEXT STYLE IS A SET OF TEXT CHARACTERS, SUCH AS FONT, HEIGHT,, AND ANGLE

LETTERING LETTERING SIZE MINIMUM LETTERING HEIGHT SHOULD BE 1/8” ALL DIMENSION NUMERALS, NOTES, AND OTHER LETTERED INFORMATION SHOULD HE THE SAME HEIGHT EXCEPT FOR TITLES, DRAWING NUMBERS, AND OTHER CAPTIONS TITLES AND SUBTITLES, FOR EXAMPLE, CAN BE 3/16 OR ¼”

LETTERING HINTS FOR PROFESSIONAL LETTERING ALWAYS USE GUIDELINES, WHICH ARE LIGHTLY DRAWN HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL LINES SPACED EQUAL TO THE HEIGHT OF THE LETTERS USE A SLIGHTLY ROUNDED POINT ON A MECHANICAL PENCIL LEAD OR A 0.5-MM AUTOMATIC PENCIL WITH H, F, OR HB LEAD PROTECT THE DRAWING BY RESTING YOUR HAND ON A CLEAN PROTECTIVE SHEET USE A STRAIGHTEDGE FOR VERTICAL STROKES
