Welcome to Brookfield Community School Duke of Edinburgh Award Presentation Evening

How does it work? There are three levels: Bronze (14+) Silver (15+) Gold (16+) There are four Sections: Volunteering Skills Physical Recreation Expeditions

How does it work?

Key information The contribution we ask for to run the Duke of Edinburgh Award is £80. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Brookfield Community School’.

Cost breakdown D of E Enrolment £17 Training Weekend £20 Practice Expedition £18 Qualifying expedition £25

Due to the number of participants, students must make their own arrangements for travel to and from each weekend expedition. Students must arrive and be picked up on time in order to ensure that effective supervision can take place. A home contact must be available in case of an emergency or in case a student breaks the code of conduct.

D of E according to Mr Schofield

1. You shall attend training on a Wednesday night. Always!

2. Completing your voluntary service, skill or physical section is up to you!

3. You will smile when on expedition. Even when it is raining!

4. Remember that your teachers are giving up their weekend voluntarily!!

5. D of E is tough. Be prepared

6. Trust is essential! Responsibility has to be guaranteed.

7. Finally ….. the D of E Award is great!

Still fancy doing it? To enrol you will need to fill in an enrolment form and hand it to Mrs Woods or Mrs Cawley in the exams office. You will also need a cheque for £80 made payable to ‘Brookfield Community School’ There are 28 places. First Come first serve.
