Training – 4 sections 3 months Skill 3 months Volunteering 3 months Physical Plan, prepare for and undertake a 2 day 1 night venture Expedition Plus ANOTHER 3 Months of one of the Volunteering, Physical or Skills Programmes MINIMUM TIME TO COMPLETE IS 6 MONTHS Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities Skills: developing practical and social skills and personal interests Expedition: planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad

Numbers Last year we had 97 students undertaking the Bronze award. This year the award is being offered to all students in year 10. Total cost £120 (this covers everything other than food students take on the expedition + personal walking gear) – Some equipment will be provided (tents/stoves…) – Boots/bags/clothing should be owned by the student so they are familiar with it and it is worn in.

What’s next? Year 10s need to complete the registration form and get it back to me by the end of this week. Pay the deposit of £30 a place for the Bronze Award. I will register all pupils to allow them to log on and start completing their sections. Volunteering will be begin with Citizenship Training sessions will be on Monday after school 3-4pm( January 2016) (cover camp craft,1 st aid, route planning…) Expedition and practice will be in June / July 2016
