Terah Chang Period: 1 WATER POLLUTION

 The garbage will end up in oceans and kills marine and bird life. Our oceans are getting too crowded with plastic and other pollution. ISSUE ABOUT WATER POLLUTION

 The governing entity is the EPA which stands for United States Environmental Protection Agency.  The administrator of the EPA is Gina McCarthy. GOVERNING ENTITY

 The pollution in the ocean disturbs marine ecosystems. It also harms the oceans. Each year 100,000 marine life and one million sea birds are killed. RELATION TO EARTH SCIENCE

 What is water pollution? Water pollution is what happens when factories, wastewater treatment plants, construction sites or people put things in the water that make it dirty, and it can harm the animals inside the ocean.  Litter first gets separated from its user, then it slowly makes its way to the ocean. WATER POLLUTION

 Water pollution can be harmful to the animals, but also to us. The water is unsafe for drinking, bathing, swimming, or fishing. The fish that we eat could have been in polluted water which means we could also get sick! WHY IS WATER POLLUTION BAD FOR US?

 Animals are getting hurt  We are eating the hurt animals, which are making us sick  It’s bad for our oceans.  We can’t drink the water when we need it. WHY WE SHOULD CHANGE SOME THINGS

 You can help the oceans by recycling  Don’t litter!  Clean up other trash you see on the ground. WHAT CAN YOU DO?

 We need to follow Taiwan’s actions and charge on plastics sold on a company level, it will pay for the sorting, capturing, cleaning and recycling in the ocean.  We also ask that you don’t litter and also help pick up garbage off the ground.  Recycle! CALL TO ACTION
