MOUNTAINS BUILDING By: Aisa Feratovic, Diany Rosa, Eniyah Garner, Francesca Cancellieri

FOLDED MOUNTAINS The highest mountains in the world are made up of folded mountains They form at convergent boundaries where continents have collided Folded mountains form when rock layers squeeze together and push upward Mt. Everest, the largest mountain in the world

FAULT-BLOCK MOUNTAINS Fault-block mountains form when this tension causes large blocks of the earths crust to drop down relative to other blocks. Sometimes faulting makes mountains have sharp peaks. A folded-block mountain forms at a convergent boundary.

VOLCANIC MOUNTAINS Most of the worlds major volcanic mountains are located at convergent boundaries. Volcanic mountains also form under the sea. Sometimes these mountains can rise above the ocean surface to become islands.
