The opportunity You will have the opportunity to work in the Applied Physical Metrology test laboratories of Goodyear’s Innovation Center in Luxembourg. Among other responsibilities you will have to: Improve and further build foundational knowledge and predictive capabilities/tools in the area of compound characterization, especially regarding rolling resistance, traction and wear. Contribute to fundamental projects and work in interdisciplinary teams. Coordinate scattering experiments with external institutes and large-scale facilities. Build scientific relationships with internal customers as well as external science partners. Write and publish articles internally. To join our team you will need: Education: You have successfully completed a Master’s degree in physics, mechanical engineering or material science. You should have a finished doctoral thesis (PhD) in the field of polymers, liquid crystals, soft matter and/or elastomers. Languages: Fluency in English (oral and written) is a must. Knowledge of French, German and/or Luxembourgish is considered as an asset. Experience: A first experience in the fields of physical characterization of polymers / composite materials / elastomers will be considered as a strong asset. A first experience in applying scattering methods to derive structure-property relationships will be considered as an asset. Basic knowledge in non-linear viscoelasticity is considered an as an asset. Experience in working in an international environment is necessary.
